Travelling on business and travelling for leisure are two very different things. Business travellers usually spend so little time in a destination, that it seems a waste. So we investigate how much culture can you actually fit into an hour?

This week we’re in Dubai!

Dubai is not only a popular business and leisure destination, Dubai International Airport is also an increasing popular connection airport for long-haul flights, so this weeks edition features things to do inside the airport! Whether you’re waiting to travel home or hour connecting flight, we’ve compiled 4 of the best things to do in Dubai International Airport (DBX).

The first thing you want to do at DBX is go for a stroll and take in the size and grandeur of the amazing airport.  If you’re looking to get away from the stressful crowds, visit the Zen Garden in Terminal 3 for an oasis of tranquillity and relaxation.

Complete with fish ponds, trees and benches, it’s the perfect area to to settle down and pass the time with a good book or catch up with those emails.

“I had a 6 hour layover in Dubai Airport and it was like a city, I very nearly missed my connection because I had checked in to a Snoozecube. I would definitely recommend one of those”

With over 30,000 square meters of retail space, Dubai Duty Free is a shopping lover’s paradise. Year after year it smashes records, with annual sales now totaling in the billions of pounds. From cosmetics to confectionery, electronics to books and games, Dubai Duty Free has it covered.

For those with a longer time in the airport or those who need some shut-eye before your big meeting, Terminal 1 has the ultimate answer: the Snoozecube.

“Located adjacent to gate C22 and available to rent by the hour, each of the ten Snoozecubes offers a comfortable bed, touchscreen TV, Wi-Fi, music and enough room to store carry-on luggage. And the best bit? They are completely soundproof.”

Lastly for those with even more time (and swimwear), why not check in to Dubai International Hotel, the airports very own 5 star onsite hotel!

Go for a leisurely swim, unwind with a session in the steam room or sauna or sleep overnight in a luxuriously appointed guestroom.
